We got the special opportunity to check out Twisted Pixel’s new game for Oculus Rift, Defector, during an off-site event at PAX East last week.
Defector is a game about a secret agent, or something of sort. With a communication device in your ear and a savvy computer in your contact lense, you’ll accomplish your goals just like they taught you in training.
There have a been a couple games similar come out across all VR platforms, but Defector feels different. The controls are smooth and intuitive, the choices actually matter, and there appears to be a bit more logic and reasoning involved than in prior titles. It feels like something special for sure.
Twisted Pixel recently published another game with Oculus Studios called Wilson’s Heart. Unlike that title, Defector will be a full locomotion game, allowing you to move about your environments freely. Interaction has never felt better than in the preview we checked out, and most everything came very intuitively.
We’re very excited for Defector and we hope you are as well! Here’s 23 minutes of direct feed gameplay! If you don’t want to spoil any aspect of the game, we would recommend you not watch…
