Drunkn Bar Fight on Halloween Is Truly A Nightmare – Review (Oculus)

Drunkn Bar Fight on Halloween is a spinoff of the original Drunkn Bar Fight by The Munkey. The premise is about what you’d expect from the title. Drink alcohol and get in fights in a bar filled with zombies. Though at first this might sound like a jolly romp in VR, you might be better off spending your $2.99 in an actual bar.

Once you load into the bar you can fight the zombies by punching or using one of the various items or weapons around the bar. Punching seemed to only knock out zombies with a shot in the face and most of the weapons felt pretty ineffective. Overall, it’s mainly just flailing your arms around in hopes of getting a knockout, and it’s exhausting, unsatisfying and repetitive. Getting in a fight will escalate quickly too, with more zombies joining in. Having your character get knocked out happens quickly and often. It instantly halts the little amount of fun you might have been having as well. The most enjoyment you’ll have is lighting off a firecracker and watching the zombies fly into the air and bounce off of the ceiling.

There really isn’t that much to it. There are options to have unbreakable weapons and invincibility, but neither one will really enhance the experience. Once you’ve tried all the weapons around the bar, there’s nothing else to do.

Our recommendation: Drunkn Bar Fight on Halloween might be fun for a few laughs with friends, but probably just for a few minutes each and then never again.  Yes, the price point is low so it’s expected that the amount of content will be low. Even so, what’s there isn’t even worth the sore arms and frustration it leaves you with.
