Handsome & Humble: October Issue
Handsome & Humble is an ongoing series from Handsome Phantom about the games in the Humble Monthly Bundle. Humble Monthly is subscription service ($12 per month) from Humble that gives subscribers a bundle of PC games each month. There are always some AAA titles, as well as a handful of indie games. The bundles are usually worth somewhere around $200, so we think its an awesome value for what subscribers pay.
Subscribers also have the option to pay for the next month’s bundle early, in order to get the “early unlock,” which is typically two or three of the games from the next month’s bundle. Handsome and Humble is the monthly series where we look at what you’ll get in the early unlock as well as a quick overview of the games from the last bundle.
This month, if you pay for August’s early unlock, you’ll receive a copy of Overwatch.
Overwatch
That’s right, the award winning hero shooter from Blizzard Entertainment is the big title for October’s Humble Monthly Bundle! If you haven’t yet played Overwatch……where the hell have you been? This game is one of the greatest, most dynamically changing games in the current video game market. Take a break from simple, repetitive multiplayer shooters, and indulge in a universe of strategy, skill, and occasional mayhem instead.
Overwatch breaks from the typical multiplayer shooter which focuses on individual skill and number of kills. In Overwatch, getting kills takes a back seat to working with your teammates to accomplish various goals to win each match. Each hero falls within one of three categories: Tank, Damage, and Support. There’s a lot of debate about what is the most optimal number of each to be on any given team, but one of the best things about Overwatch is that certain characters are designed to be able to counter others, so team makeups will often change throughout any given match.
Even though Overwatch launched in May of 2016, it’s a continually evolving game with a continually growing player-base that are continually developing new strategies for the game. Even if you’re not usually a fan of First Person Shooters, give Overwatch a try anyway. Many Overwatch players never used to play First Person Shooters before they played Overwatch. If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not to get this game, you’re not going to have a better opportunity than picking up this month’s bundle for $12.
And many more!
Each monthly bundles contains a handful of other titles as well, some that are well known, some that are not so well known. Since we can’t tell you about any of the other titles that will be in September’s bundle, here’s a quick overview of the games in last month’s bundle!
Battle Chef Brigade – The drawn cartoon game all about puzzles, platforming, and cooking
Darksiders II – The remake of the popular hack and slash RPG about death
