The Handsome Phantom team is expanding!

Handsome Phantom has a quickly growing and expanding audience, and we’re looking to put out even more content. If you’re passionate about games and have a knack for any of the things below, we’d love to hear from you.

*At this point, Handsome Phantom is not offering paid positions. We can offer opportunity, exposure, and some free games to review, interviews with established industry contacts and more for the time being. We understand if this isn’t for you and, if it’s not, no worries!*

Writers

We’re looking for all forms of writing about games, such as previews, reviews, news opinions, listicles and more. If it has to do with gaming, we’re interested!

Whether you have experience or not, we want you to apply if you think you have a knack for writing, and know that you have a deep love for video games. You’ll have a lot of freedom on what you write, but we may also assign certain topics based on what interests you have expressed.

Handsome Phantom publishes written content Monday through Friday. If you apply, we ask that you would commit to two (2) articles of some type per month at a minimum.

News Writers

Basically, we’re looking for the same thing as above with the following modifications…

News comes fast in the video game world. Sometimes it is pretty difficult to find something of interest, and other times there is more news coming out than you can handle. News writers need to be able to see something of interest (whether on Twitter, an article elsewhere, email blasts, newsletters, etc) and be able to hop on it with facts in a reliable and consistent matter of time.

Writers who focus on news should aim to put out at least two short pieces of content per week and should aim to have an article up the same day as the news is out. It doesn’t have to be minutes after it breaks, but it should be within hours as to remain relevant.

Those with established industry contacts will be given preference, but it is not a requirement.

Social Media Manager

Do you like dank memes and spending hours each day on Twitter? If so, you’re pretty much what we are looking for!

Types of social media postings include new article postings, alerting followers to when there is new content of any form, conducting polls, discussions, and other random content. You’ll also be responsible for continuing to push content after it is released whether to get more traction or to remind people of something we published in the past that is again relevant (i.e. a preview we did of a game 6 months ago that is releasing next week.) A knowledge of how to interact with our following, strong communication skills, and quick response time are necessary.

A simultaneous sense of professionalism, a love of sarcasm, and a deep knowledge of meme culture are a must.

Applicants must be familiar with Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram at a minimum and should include links to any corporate or personal accounts they manage in their emailed application.

Video Capture/Production

If you have any experience capturing gameplay, editing video, or otherwise want to be involved with engaging and interesting video content, we’d love to chat. We’re looking to expand our growing YouTube channel in 2019 and will be seeking more individuals with a talent and desire for video.

Please submit any examples of video work you’ve done in the past as an example of your work, alongside your written interest.
