Infini Demo – Impressions (PC)
You’ve heard of endless runners? Well, say hello to a new genre… the endless faller? Infini is a psychedelic puzzle adventure game that has you controlling a freefalling character in an attempt to land in warp holes. Hope, as the character goes by, is stuck in infinity and would very much like to go home. Falling endlessly, it’s your task to help him find his way back by navigating through various warp holes found throughout each level.
Hope not only has to navigate around obstacles, but the whole screen connects even when you direct him over the edge of your pc. Sending him all the way to the left will have him reappearing on the right side of the screen so you must pay attention to everything that is happening on the entire screen all at once.
What is reality? Is hope really doomed to fall for all infinity or can he be restored the reality he once knew?
Puzzles can be as simple as falling from top to bottom until you hit the warp – to incredibly complicated where you’ll be tasked with speeding up, slowing down, and avoiding obstacles as you make your way to your destination.
With over one hundred levels available, when the full game officially releases, there will be no limit to the different types of obstacles you need to overcome in order to send Hope back to his reality.
As visually psychedelic as the puzzles, each level not only ramps up the abilities, but the visuals as well. The stages will take multiple attempts as you navigate through sections at a time until you are finally rewarded by reaching the level’s end. This happens just in time to be immediately swept up in another more challenging puzzle that will test everything you know about time and space.
The game’s creators say “we are always striving to push limits and break boundaries with our narratives, gameplay and music. Our goal with Infini is to throw you into and unknown world of surprise.”
Find out if they reach their goal when Infini launches on Steam March 4th.
