Outer Wilds – Preview (PAX East 2018)

Outer Wilds is an open world space simulator being published by Annapurna Interactive and developed by Mobius Digital.

Though it is described as a first person space simulator, this time looping game appears to be about much more at first glance. There’s a sense of discovery that is incredibly apparent in Outer Wilds, and the opportunities to see the worlds in the preview we got to play was vast.

You play as a new recruit in the Outer Wilds Ventures group and attempt to search for answers in a constantly evolving system. You’ll encounter interesting characters, many complex histories, and even some small puzzles in this title. The gadgets are plentiful and the world is replete with mystery and wonder.

As the player travels back to distant locations, the environment can change around you, and you’ll feel as though you’ve never been there before – even though it’s possible you just left.

We’re looking forward to seeing more develop from Outer Wilds as it progresses through development and into our hands at home. It’s sure to be a hit for critical thinkers and fans of exploration alike.
